Joshua’s Heart Cares Inc. – was established in April of 2020 and was named after our oldest son who passed away in January of 2020.
He passed away from complications after surgery but was diagnosed with Congestive Heart Failure in 2014. He had open
heart surgery in 2014 and a heart transplant in 2016. The transplant was successful until 2019, when he his body started to reject his heart. Joshua was a very strong individual and was a survivor. His journey with his health was one that he endured with grace and was nothing short of a warrior. When we think about him, we often think about how he never complained. Every stick or poke only made him stronger. In naming our nonprofit we thought about how big his heart was. We always said that he had heart and that is why we named the nonprofit “Joshua’s heart Cares.
We have a two-part goal, one is to educate the community on heart disease and the importance of getting your heart checked at least once a year and when your body tells you that something is wrong or different, pay attention!!!
Secondly, we want to help support care givers as much as possible! We became full time caregivers of Josh in 2019. We understand the importance of taking care of ourselves as well as the patient. We currently support our own non-profit through private funds from
family and friends but accept any donations.
